The first of our 2nd team matches was played at Worcester Golf and Country Club. The teams were quite evenly matched in relation to their handicaps which resulted in very close matches throughout the field. Unfortunately our Warwickshire team came a very close second, losing 3½ to 4½. However, the weather was perfect for golf, the course was in excellent condition, all of the players enjoyed very close and extremely competitive matches and the three players who were playing for the Warwickshire Vets for the 1st time all won their matches! So overall, despite the final result, a very successful day.
The post-match meal was greatly appreciated. Our thanks go to the Worcestershire Golf and Country Club for hosting the match and the Worcestershire Vets Captain for organising the day.
