On Sunday 23rd June 2013, Warwickshire Junior Girls played against Nottingham Junior Girls for the first time in 5 years. The match was at Beeston Fields Golf Club and was originally organised to be played with 8 in each team, with varying handicaps, playing match play with full handicap.
On the day, unfortunately Charlotte Hartshorne was unable to play due to illness (she had been at County Match Week the previous week helping to bring the trophy home to Warwickshire), so 7 girls played. 6 of them played matchplay, with Ellie Liggines-Hughes playing in a 3 ball Stableford with the 2 other Nottingham players.
The result was a win for Nottingham 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 but friendships were made and this fixture will continue in the diary for 2014.
The Team Manager of Nottingham sent this message:
"It was lovely to meet you today at Beeston Fields and our girls enjoyed their matches against the Warwickshire girls. They are really pleased to have this new fixture and they all enjoyed playing in spite of the very blustery conditions and were chatting away and smiling as they played.
