On this, our first home match of the season, we played at Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club. Monday 10th June was the date and the weather was cloudy, warm and dry with the sun only appearing as the last groups came home. The course was in excellent condition and the greens very true and we set off looking for our first County match win. The format was Better Ball with shots.
The first four pairs came in with wins, with the next two just losing out to Oxfordshire. We got the half in match seven, meaning that the final score was 4 /12 to Warwickshire to 3 1/2 to Oxfordshire - our first win and hopefully setting us up for the rest of the season!!
