The match was played at Rugby Golf Club.
All the matches after the front 9 were tight and it looked very promising, but sadly on the back nine Staffordshire players went up a notch.
Liz Haycock won the first hole and continued to lead and won her match on the 15th. Terrific golf played by Liz.
Maisie was 2 down after the 15th hole and halved the match on the 18th, a fantastic and worthy result.
The weather was not what was expected, sun broke through the clouds in the morning and the temperature increased.
After all the rain from the night before Rugby Golf Club looked fabulous and the greens played well.
Not the result Warwickshire wanted but all the girls played their best on the day and for that I am very grateful.
