Warks Vets v Gloucestershire 28th July at Cirencester Golf Club
There were some really good close matches out there on a very different course, every match bar one went to the 17th or 18th hole. The course was very hilly, with lots of blind shots, luckily, we had just one very heavy downpour lasting 10-15 minutes. Despite losing my game I really liked the course - except for the very strange fairway shared by the 7th and 18th hole in opposite directions!
I presented belated colours to Sharon Butler, and Karin Kirk made her Vets debut - after play, I went round touting for players at the Vets 9 hole Open for the next match, having had 15 players cancel over the past month or so!
A long tiring day for us all after such long journeys each way, and I really appreciated everyone’s enthusiasm, even at the end of the day.
But the most important thing is the result - Warks won 4 1/2 : 3 1/2
