1st team match v Staffordshire
Sunday May 20th at Walmley Golf Club
Another glorious day for the 2nd match of 2018 for our 1st team against Staffordshire. As Staffs appeared to be struggling to find a team that could play 36 holes we agreed to reduce it to 18 holes and we requested that we played 4 Foursomes so that we could continue to practice our potential pairings for County Match Week.
The pairing of Julia Burton and Gemma Bradbury got off to a fine start and quickly went up and despite a small wobble on 12 and 13 they recorded an excellent 5&4 win. Charlotte and Emma battled hard to achieve a good half on 18 but sadly the other two pairings of Lauren and Lisa and Kelly and Yen lost, the latter on the last hole.
So Warwicks lost 2.5 to 1.5 to Staffordshire. Yet again we were disappointed to be just pipped at the post but are determined that the tide has now turned and, with immense determination and a real will to win, the rest of the season will prove to be very successful.
