WVLGA  v  Warwickshire Senior Men

The venue for this annual match was Olton GC and it was played on Friday 29th September. There was heavy rain during the morning before our match began but despite this rain, the course was in excellent condition.

The match was played off the men’s card. To counteract this differential and to add to the competition, extra shots were allotted to each of our players. Perhaps these extra shots gave our team encouragement to play with more determination.  Many of us watched and admired exhibition golf from the men we were partnered against. Traditionally this is a match where the Ladies are fairly convincingly beaten. However on this occasion, our ladies managed to return a fantastic result for my final match. I would like to thank Mark Reynolds for all his help in organizing this match. The happy atmosphere and banter between both teams on the course and within the clubhouse made it a very happy day.

As my final match report, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those ladies who have played for the Vet’s during the season. Your play, support and good humour have been much appreciated.
