WVLGA Match v Derbyshire on July 13th 2017 at Horsley Lodge G C
Horsley Lodge was the venue for this match. It is a course only a short distance from the busy A38, but deep in the heart of beautiful Derbyshire countryside. On arrival, the course looked very inviting from the clubhouse as we drank our coffee and devoured our bacon baps. It didn’t disappoint when we set out to play our matches.
All the Warwickshire Ladies enjoyed the challenges of this course, with its sloped and undulating fairways and its tiered greens. Each hole had its own identity with many water features strategically placed.
Many matches were fiercely contested, but I am delighted to report that it was another victory for the Warwickshire team.
My thanks go to their Captain Janet for her organization of the match and after a somewhat delayed meal, we all set off for home slightly later than anticipated. Perhaps this helped us avoid rush hour traffic on our journey home !
