Warwickshire Golf

WVLGA  v  Gloucestershire  -  Venue : Leamington & County GC  on  July 3^rd

We were fortunate in having another perfect day for golf – dry, sunny and warm.  The Gloucestershire team all arrived bright and early – although many had incurred long journeys to get to Leamington. The coffee and bacon sandwiches were well received after their early starts. The Gloucestershire Captain commented how relaxed the Warwickshire ladies seemed to be before the start of our match. I am not sure if this is how the team actually felt, but I believe there is a strong camaraderie amongst our ladies before, during and after our matches.

Leamington G C was in excellent condition with the ball running well on the dry fairways. The greens were challenging with their speed proving tricky for some ladies. Most of the matches involved Warwickshire ladies giving shots to our opposition. Our Warwickshire ladies fought some close matches but managed to return an amazing victory. Well done team !   Delighted to say that we welcomed Ann Nash and Sue Williams for their first Vet's match.

The day concluded with a delicious meal and some amiable conversation around the tables.
