On Thursday 27th September 46 Warwickshire players competed for the Joyce Nichol Trophies at Henley Golf & Country Club. The sun shone which was a bonus after the week of rain and the course was in excellent condition. The Course Manager decided to make all of the bunkers GUR as most had considerable standing water and the players breathed a sigh of relief at the prospect!!
The competition was played in two divisions in the Stableford format and some excellent scores were recorded. The winners of each division were presented with a Salver, where ultimately their signatures will be engraved.
SILVER DIVISION WINNERS
1st Irene LANGLEY (Marriott Forest of Arden GC) - 40 points Nett
2nd Rachel RUSTED (Nuneaton GC) - 37 points Nett
3rd Bobbi WAUGH (Moor Hall GC) - 35 points Nett (from a countback from Carol O'Hare and Jeanette GRIMSTON)
BRONZE DIVISION WINNERS
1st Chris MITCHELL (Marriott Forest of Arden GC) - 37 points Nett
2nd Judith URQUHART (Stratford-on-Avon GC) - 33 points Nett
3rd Judy HADFIELD (Coventry GC) - 32 points Nett
There were 4 Gross 2's - Carol O'HARE, Pam BRANNAN, Trish FEASEY and Claire HOWELLS
Congratulations to all the winners, particularly the two Winners from Marriott Forest of Arden GC who in fact were quite late entrants into the competition, and many thanks to Henley G&CC for hosting the event this year.
