Warwickshire Vets v Warwickshire Girls Match – 14th April 2024 – Harborne Golf Club
The Junior Girls first match of the season against the Warwickshire Vets was held at Harborne Golf Club on Sunday April 14th 2024.
Thanks go to club for hosting the event and to the greenkeepers for presenting the course so well after such wet weather conditions that have prevailed over the last month. We were warmly welcomed by all the staff and members alike and we were grateful to the Lady Captain, Janet Stanway for her attendance at the event.
The weather was good, and we had sunshine most of the day, the match was played in good spirits with smiles and lots of conversations. The wind tested the players, but some good golf was played by all and most of the matches were close, and it was a lovely friendly match – so thank you to the Vets for an enjoyable day.
The girls performed well, and special mention goes to Arianna Virik & Erin Hamilton who won 6/5 however the rest of the girls rallied hard to get a 4/1 win for our first win of the season – well played. Thanks to all the girls who took part and to the parents for supporting the girls which is gratefully received. The vets were great and encouraged the girls thank you ladies.
