Alison Nicholas MBE inducted into England Golf’s first ‘Hall of Fame’
The 13th February was a historic night for England Golf, as the governing body celebrated its 100th anniversary with a Centenary Dinner & Awards at the very place it was born – the Midland Manchester Hotel.
Together with 11 other notable names in the world of golf, Alison was inducted into an all-new England Golf Hall of Fame.
Those inducted were: Sir Michael Bonallack, Alison Nicholas, Gerald Micklem, Peter McEvoy, Trish Johnson, Gary Wolstenholme, Georgia Hall, Peter Alliss, Dame Laura Davies, Sir Nick Faldo, Bridget Jackson and Luke Donald.
Alison said that she was delighted to receive this honour, especially as the first she heard of it was when friends began congratulating her!
Recognising how proud we are to have her as our County Junior Organiser, the WLCGA presented her with a bouquet of flowers and a congratulations card from all the committee members including the senior and junior sections.
