8.30 arrival at Shirley golf club for our match against Derbyshire, feeling very confident as I knew the team selected was the strongest of 2023 so far.
First out in morning foursomes
Callum lee & Alfie Michell
This was a good match for observers with plenty of birdies, the Warwickshire pair would close it out on the 18th winning 1 up.
Next out was Freddy & Charlie. Off to a very fast start the Warwickshire players were never in any danger, a 7&6 victory the final result.
Things looking good 2-0 up and we were up in both remaining matches. Jack & Joey would see it out for a 2&1 win and last but not least Miles & Kamraan would cruise to A 3&1 victory.
A very pleasant lunch with a very commanding 4-0 lead at halfway.
With the boys upbeat, fed and watered the singles started.
Callum would win 7&6, Freddy would win 5&4, Charlie would gain a half point, Alfie would win 2&1, Jack would win 5&4, Joey would win 5&3, Miles would gain a half point and lastly Kamraan would lose 5&4.
A very satisfying result winning by a massive margin 10-2 to team Warwickshire and a great end to the season.
