Warwickshire Seniors vs Derbyshire Seniors match at The Ormonde Fields Golf Club, 15th August 2023
The team selected to play for Warwickshire was:

This was our 4th and final league game of the season. The team all headed up the M1 or A38 towards Derby and arrived safely at Ormonde Fields Golf Club, a course none of the Warwickshire team had previously played before.
We had a good start in the morning foursomes with the top match Tim & Nev recording a fine 4&2 win against strong opposition, Ken and Phil managed their way to a half. Simon and Copt Heath partner Neal Gooding recording a 3&1 win with both Rob & Russ and Dylan & Mark both winning we went into lunch with a 4.5 – 1.5 lead.
After lunch of sandwiches and chips the fourball games got underway. The top four game all went the way of Warwickshire. A great performance by the team.
We completed a 12.5 – 5.5 win against Derbyshire. To beat any side away from home is a fine achievement.
A big thanks to the Warwickshire Seniors side, for giving up your time to represent the county and performing to a high level.
Congratulation to Neal Gooding on making his county debut. Also, great to have both Mark Stanton (Stratford on Avon) and Russ Barker (Coventry) returning in the side.
Thanks to Ormonde Fields GC and Derbyshire County for hosting us. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, playing competitive golf in friendly spirit.
We have now completed our League matches, finishing runner up to S&H in the West Midlands League. (Please see MGU website)
