Warwickshire Girls at Midland Champion of Champions 18 September 2023
Three Warwickshire Girls represented Warwickshire at Midland Champion of Champions.
Having qualified through the Warwickshire Girls Championships in July, three of our girls travelled to Burghley Park Golf Club in Lincolnshire on the 18th September to compete in the Midland Champion of Champions Competition.
Maisie Halstead (Kenilworth GC) was entered as our Girls Champion and played in the under 16 competition, Molly Moffat (Olton GC) in the under 18 and Arianna Virik (Kenilworth GC) in the under 14 competition.
Five of the girls playing in the event had handicaps of 3 and below and our girls knew that the day was going to be very competitive!
Molly, playing off a 14 handicap put in a creditable performance against very tough, low handicap opposition.
Maisie, playing off a handicap of 4, had an excellent joint-third best score of 158 in the Girls Under-16s competition only losing out on a medal on the back nine of the afternoon round.
Arianna, playing off a handicap of 2, put in a spectacular performance, winning all three age group categories with rounds of 76 and 71 earning her a six shot cushion from her closest challenger!
She came home with a lot of silverware!
We are hugely proud of all three girls and delighted that they went to represent us at this event. We can’t wait to see what they can all do in 2023!
