U14's PLAY 4 COUNTIES
The 4 counties Under 14 Short course tournament was held at Broughton Heath Golf Club on 20/21st July between Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
It was a six a side round robin match play tournament.
Team Warwickshire consisted of

Edward Leyshon
The first match for Team Warwickshire was against Nottinghamshire. On paper they were the better side, but we stuck at our task and won 4.5 to 1.5 .
On the second day we began by playing Staffordshire. This match was tougher than expected.
Fortune favoured Staffordshire in a couple of matches and we lost by 2.5 to 3.5 .
The final match against Derbyshire was also a struggle for us and we went down fighting to the end by 2 to 4.
Notts won the event with Derbyshire second, Warwickshire finished third by a small margin
The team gave their best and really enjoyed the tournament. They had a great team spirit and will have learned a lot from the experience.
The team all contributed very well, with Chanon James our Captain for the event starting well by beating the Captain of Nottinghamshire. Lucas Laurie halved both his first two matches, Joseph McInnes won two matches, Finlay Haynes halved his final match, George Halstead won one match, Edward Leyshon halved his final match, but the best performance overall came from Charlie Lamb, who won all three matches.
