SENIORS BEAT STAFFS AT SUTTON

A very hard earned and memorable win against the defending West Midlands League Champions Staffordshire, who have been unbeaten in League matches for 2 years.

Warwickshire, who were the last team to inflict a defeat on our neighbours back at Handsworth in June 2015 have now opened their 2017 campaign with two wins from their opening two matches.

With a useful lead at lunchtime the afternoon fourballs were shared with two wins, two halves and two losses apiece. The course was in exceptional condition with many players from both sides saying they had never seen the course look or play better.

Home field advantage was, as always, crucial with both Laurence Greatley and Bob Scambler and their respective partners both securing maximum points on the day. The matches were played in excellent spirit as always, and we look forward to our next league challenge at Worcestershire next month.

Many thanks again to Sutton Coldfield Golf Club for their hospitality. Thank you to Bob Harrison, Warwickshire Golf Union President for his attendance.
