The Warwickshire Senior men fielded a strong side for this match on Friday 4th September, which this year was played at Olton GC, with their highest handicapper being off 10. Despite receiving extra shots to equate the difference in standard scratch the Vets team had an uphill battle. All matches, inevitably, were highly competitive; men never like to lose to women! Three of the four matches were very tight. Julie Ward & Caroline Lassen secured a great result by winning 1 up on the 18th green. Unfortunately Pat Hale & Carol O’Hare went down 2/1 and Sheila Armstrong & myself lost on the 18th.
Although the final result didn’t go our way, a great atmosphere surrounded the match with plenty of humour and banter from both sides. A great day!
