The match was played at Rushden Golf Club on 15th July 2019.
This match was played on a very tight and undulating course with very slow greens. The conditions were dry and quite cold for a July day. The golf club was really welcoming and the catering was really impressive.
The team consisted of:
Carol O’Hare
Zara Houghton
Rahela Gordon
Grace Wilkinson
Helen Dellow
Judith Pegler
Sharon Butler
Hilary Dixon
Veronique Lintin
The 1st two foursomes, Carol/Zara and Rahela/Grace, won their matches, 1up and 4 and 2 respectively. The 3rd foursome, Helen/Veronique, fought hard but lost 3 and 2. This meant we were up in the morning session.
Julia came over at the end of the morning matches and saw us all tee-off in the afternoon which was great for the team.
The afternoon singles were halved with Judith, Hilary and Veronique winning their matches.
Everyone played a part in winning today. This was very important as the regional finals are going to be played on Friday 19 July and this means we are now playing for 3rd of 4th place instead of a possible 5th or 6th.
Thanks to everyone who played today. Great win! 5-4
Veronique Lintin
County Vice-Captain
